Open Data Enterprise – The Game is On!

Theme: Commercialisation of Open Data will be driven by interactive gaming?

Location: NDRC, Crane Street, The Digital Hub, Dublin 8, Ireland

Organisers: Irish Internet Association (IIA) and National Digital Research Centre (NDRC)

Transport and travel applications provide enormous benefit to citizens and public sector services but the commercialisation/monetisation of Open Data applications will be realised by the interactive gaming industry of which Ireland is the European home to world leaders.

apps4fingal is a competition for developers to create mobile and/or online apps based on Fingal Open Data.

Cork Events

Open Data for an Open Future

Organisers: JB McCarthy, Development Director, Financial Services Innovation Centre, O'Rahilly Building, University College Cork, Cork, Ireland.

As part of a national initiative, this event is striving to raise the profile and potential of open data in Ireland. With increased ability to capture, process and store data, public organisations are beginning to see the benefit in opening this data to its citizens. With countries such as the UK and US leading the way, Ireland is just starting out on its open data path. Highlighting the state of play of open data in Ireland, the aim is provide a platform for future initiatives and events and a more transparent future for Irish citizens.
